For years, enterprise security worked a lot like a gated tech park: show your badge at the main security gate or dial in via the corporate VPN, and you were automatically trusted everywhere inside the perimeter. Once on the internal subnet, you could pretty much access internal servers, databases, and admin consoles with minimal friction.

Today, that physical network boundary is completely gone. Workloads run across multiple cloud regions, teams push code from home or cafes across Bengaluru, Pune, and remote setups worldwide, and autonomous microservices talk directly over distributed APIs.

In this landscape, Identity has become the primary perimeter.
